What is School Sport Funding?

From September 2013 schools received a new ring-fenced ‘Funding for PE and Sport’.  Schools receive funding annually in a lump sum.  Schools have flexibility on how they use the funding but it should be used to increase and improve to the quality of PE and sport available to pupils. 

We will use this funding to provide our children with more sports opportunities. We work in partnership with the Wickersley School Sports Partnership, and with our ACET Trust academies, to:

• Increase the amount of competition sport in which our children participate.
• Make links to other community sports providers.
• Develop additional clubs and activities for children, outside the curriculum. Encourage our children to improve their leadership skills through sport.
• Give extra support in PE to our most talented children and include those with special needs in sport.
